Got myself some new poker chips

Just got myself in the mail my new poker chip set. its a 300 pcs chip set which i got online from 888poker (using some loyalty points to get – cool ha?)

anyway – these chips will have their debut next Friday while im planning a small (but high quality) poker night for some of my friends (not sure yet if we will do a tournament or just some good old fashioned cash games

here are the chips – looking good…. :-)

Back from the deads

Well, not exactly, but i was away for a while, had a lot on my minds and tons of exams – ye that’s what you get from going to university…

anyway – last night was an amazing poker night – i went to a poker tournaments with some of my friends, the poker night was held in a house of someone i didnt know before (Thanks Julia for the great night) and it was a really amazing house with a cool games room where we had the tournament going on – buy in was 250 euros and prize pool was nice enough (almost 2500 euros for the last one standing) – dont worry it wasnt me….

we started at 2 tables and last 9 moved on to the final table (at this point i was already out after a crazy crazy hand where i was sucked in by Georgy with trips of 10′s and i got beaten by a painful full house – oh well

the really cool thing anyway was this was the first time i ever got to see someone pulling a royal flush – YES a real one – it was so amazing to watch, Jan (my friend), Julia and Mary were going all in (Jan with trips of 7′s, Julia with a full house and Mary went all in obviously with this amazing royal flush)

Mary was holding ace and 10 of spades, Jan was holding 7, 5  and Julia had 7 ,K
community cards were 7, Q, K, 7, J

was an amazing night and great poker (better luck for me next time hopefully) – at the end it was Mary taking on 1st prize, Georgy #2 and Jan (not my friend) #3.

Playing texas holdem

in the last couple of weeks im really into texas holdem poker, i read some tips and strategies (before i was playing with my guts, which was great but it can be risky poker sometimes)

so now, done some homework and im ready for the next challenge which is a  big texas holdem tournament at Liana house next weekend, hopefully the learning will pay off (this will be a big, 30 people or so tournament which is much more than the ones we r usually having)

in the meanwhile if you want to read some i advice you to start with the basics  -read some poker hand rankings guide (ye i know it is a real beginner stuff but hey, i have no idea who are my readers right?) – i like the one i found on casinopoker101 just because it is a guide for dummies (like me)

I got a poker table

i got myself a poker table so now when i will have some friends for a poker night or whatever we will be able to place our hands on the leather (or kind of leather anyway) and to place our beers right where they belong (lucky enough i bought a poker table which is fluid resistance so if anyone’s beer will fall – im all cover)

So now all is left for me to do is to organize another great poker tournament – that’s right – if you don’t have the time to play online poker why not spend a hell of a lot more time and have some friends for poker night (this way you also spend some time  preparing the food and cleaning after they all leave your house….ye – thats a smart decision right?

So, my new table is really cool – it can has up to 10 poker players around it and it is red – how cool is that?

Worse Poker Hand Ever Eliminate the Bounty

Finally i have some time to tell you about the poker tournament i had in my house a while ago, so basically i didnt win it but i got some money out of it after all by eliminating the bounty in my table, which was the girl sitting next to me. I had a really bad hand, but since she went in extra aggressive i decided she also has a bad hand. i went in, the flop, turn nothing happened and river was crappy for me as well, but still we were deep in that pot and i figured her poker hand is bad as well (i had Q and 7) anyway, once it was over, i was sure i am out since we went all in eventually like 2 stupid gals, but then she flashed a 10 and 5 – LOL
I couldnt believe i won that hand and at the same time eliminated her , after only one hand
so, that day poker winnings were about 65USD – nothing to write home about but at least i didnt loose my money like the rest of them.
